Dating Lies - Don't fall for these common lies

So you found a great person, a companion and undoubtedly your best friend. All is going swimmingly and your connection seems incredible, until you run into a roadblock that you just can't seem to shake from your thoughts. You hears something, seen something and feel something just isn't right. Here are a few common lies that occur in dating relationships and how we can help validate the truth.

It's Only a Matter of Time

When someone is a liar in a relationship, whether it be a new found love or a long-term dating relationship, the truth comes out. It is only a matter of time before you start to understand the true intentions of a person or start to see them rear their ugly head, if they are poorly intentioned people.

But time can create more problems than they are worth. The more invested in the relationship before you see negative traits, the harder it is to walk away or say what you might think or feel to your partner. Time creates a deeper connection and when you notice things are not so great then you are well and truly invested in the relationship and sometimes we don't see things as clearly if we are up close and personal. This is why we recommend the following:

  • Get specifics about your date up front. In just a few dates learn their full name, date of birth, mobile phone number, where they live and anything else you can understand. Write these down.

  • Consider a background check. We can help with that, and urge you not to fall for the rubbish "online check a person" type sites. Trust me, they are not thorough and have no real backbone. A licensed private investigator is best person to sort out the fact from fiction.

  • Keep a small journal of incidents, such as hiding their cell phone, an inconsistency in their family lineage, places they have lived. That way, if things start to look wonky, you can look back at your notes and look at the totality of the potential deceit that may be building up.

Dating Lie #1: Criminal History

Whether it be a small lie or a large lie, a lie is a lie. A liar is a liar. Don't be fooled by modern societies interpretation of a lie. Lying is rot and decay. Don't tolerate it! If they have lied about a small incident in their past with any sort of criminal history, then it is possible they have lied about larger criminal situations or even other areas of their life. Get a criminal history check done by our licensed private investigators.

Dating Lie #2: Previous or Current Marriage

This is a common matter in which we get calls. Clients start to wonder if the person was married before due to nuances in conversations. Or, they also wonder if their partner is truly divorced.

We conduct investigations into where ever the person has lived via a background check, then we scour records to locate whether that person had a marriage or divorce. All of our investigations relating to dating lies or romance scams are completely confidential and the person we are investigating will never know.

Dating Lie #3: Job and Education

People, especially men, like to sound impressive. Our clients want to know if the person they are dating really has the job they may have or have accomplished the education they say they received.

We go to work on an employment and education verification investigation. We look to corroborate the information they share with you in an effort to really know if they work where they say they do, or have attended the university they claim to have attended.

Dating Lies and Romance Scams - the after effect

Lying creates messes. People who lie to their partner in romance cannot be trusted. You know how you feel when you found out someone has lied to you. It is like being punched in the gut. Fortunately, if you are reading this, you can take action now before it goes too far - before you have invested your love, time and even money into an untruthful person.
